The Sanctuary Mississauga

 

The Sanctuary Mississauga is a gathering of friends in Mississauga, Ontario.  The reason we exist can be summed up in one statement...We are A GROWING FAMILY GIVING OURSELVES AWAY BUILDING THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

 

Oikos?

This is the Greek word for house or household or family.  Back when the Bible was being written, the word "oikos" was used to describe a much larger unit than today's modern, one-family household.  Oikos includes all people in our circles of life...people we live with, work alongside, hang-out with, etc.

 

Why does The Sanctuary Mississauga oikos grow?  Because people find an authentic and genuiune love that goes at 274 km/h.  Why at 274 km/h?  Because we have discovered that the impulse of touch travels at 274 km/h and the impulse of pain travels at 2.2 km/h.  The Sanctuary Mississauga is an oikos that beats pain to the punch! It does not matter where you are on your journey in life we are an oikos that loves EVERYBODY at 274 km/h.  The Sanctuary Mississauga is a group of people who realize that this journey we call life is not meant to be lived alone and we welcome you to be a part of our oikos.  Rest assured that this is The Sanctuary a safe place for you to be you!  Take the risk and discover The Sanctuary Mississauga for yourself.

Axon's are part of the nervous system; they take impulses away from the cell body.  The Sanctuary Mississauga is a group of people (much like a cell body) that are always looking for "axons" in life.  We look for places in Mississauga, the GTA, and the World to give away our time, our energy, our money, and whatever else we can find to give away.

 

Simple.  Because Jesus teaches us to love God and love others.  That's who we desire to be and what we are passionate about doing.

How do we Build the Kingdom of God?  The answer: "we" don't!"

 

The Bible teaches that only God builds and grows His Kingdom.  God, the same One who created the earth & you, created you with a purpose.  That purpose..to have a relationship with Him.  When we enter into a personal relationship with Jesus, the Bible says that God (the Creator) comes to live, breathe and act inside us, thus transforming us.

 

What's Our Role Then?  Our role...is to begin a personal relationship with Jesus, give up any self-serving desires and allow Him to live His live through us.  After all, if God created life, then God can truly define what it means to be alive.  All through the Bible and through history God uses ordinary people like you to point others to a realtionship with Himself & thus grow His Kingdom.
